【Introduction to the Original Author】
Yoshio Toyoshima(豊島与志雄) was born in Fukuokaprefecture, Japan in 1890. He graduated from Tokyo ImperialUniversity (Present day Tokyo University) in 1915 and became a teacher there, and he also taught at Meiji Universityand Hosei University, among others. From around1921, he began to write short stories for children in Akaitori, a Japanese children's literary magazine, as well as inother publications,ultimately leaving more than 100 fairytales. He was a famous scholar and novelist, also well known as a Japanese translator of French literature, such as LesMiserables and Jean-Christophe and so on. He passed awayin 1955.

Shizue Suetsugu(末次しず江) was born in Fukuokaprefecture, in 1947. She graduated from Fukuoka ChuoHigh School in 1966 and was employed until 1997. Later, she graduated from the Department of Humanitiesfrom Fukuoka University in 2012 and completedthe master's course at Kyushu University's Faculty ofHumanities, Graduate School of Humanities, School ofLetters,Department of Linguistics and Literature (spe cialization in English Language and Literature) in 2014.

Lillian Earnshaw was born in Liverpool,England in1949.She graduated from High School in 1964 and wenton to have a very varied career.In 1996 Lillian returned tofull time education and graduated from Manchester MetropolitanUniversity,England in 1999,eventually becominga school librarian.During that time she also qualified as a teacher and taught all age groups,from Elementary students through to adult students.Lillian came to live in Japan in 2016 and now enjoys teaching English to a small group of ladies.
